Megan stared out the window at the empty streets and flickering lamp post. When she arrived in town, she believed that she would have a fresh start, leaving her old life behind. However, that was far from the truth. In the short time Megan had spent at the Foxberry, the darkness of her past had continued to haunt her. She rarely left her little apartment on the fifth floor, paralyzed by the fear the someone on the outside was determined to hurt her. She knew she couldn't live like this forever. All Megan wanted was to feel safe. "Something has to change" Megan thought to herself. "Beep! Beep! Beep!" sounded the microwave, alerting Megan that her bowl of instant-ramen was finally finished cooking. She grabbed her bowl from the microwave, sat down on the couch, and flicked on the TV.
