Megan was more tired than usual today, given she didn't get much sleep the night before. Though, she never gets much sleep. Each night, Megan sets alarms to wake her every two hours so she can check the many locks on the front door. However, that was the life she chose when she decided to run. She had been on the run for seven months now. The Foxberry had only recently become the place she called home. After arriving in town, Megan used the little money she had left to rent a small apartment. She spent most of her time inside, only leaving to go to work at the bed and breakfast or to make trips to the grocery store.
Life had been relatively quite after moving into her little apartment on the fifth floor. At least it was, until a couple of days ago. A couple of days earlier, Megan was cooking herself dinner when she began to hear sirens whining in the distance. She inched towards the window awaiting the arrival of  black SUV's full of men in suits determined to take her away. "This is it",  she thought. However, she was comforted by the flashes of blue and red of the town's police cars. The police were responding to an emergency in the parking lot below. She was relieved. It wasn't them who were after her, the people chasing her were much more powerful. If they found her again, she knew there would be no escape.
